Maybe I’m the only one. They talked about how messy theirs were, but I didn’t see any photos…
So, I feel compelled to pick up the gauntlet thrown down in this thread by Chris Eldin at ABenchPress . She showed us her workspace, and challenged all comers to show her theirs.
Voila~
- The bottom edge of my bed, exactly 8 inches from the arm of my over-sized office chair, acquired in the garbage-picker style;
- 37 inch monitor. This is also our TV, where we watch Yankee games while the kids have commandeered the big screen in the living room to play various forms of Guitar Hero and/or Super Smash Bros. Brawl;
- Over-sized garbage-picked office chair (the smell is almost gone!);
- D.A.R.E. Pledge, given to and recited for me by my 11 year old upon completion of the school’s month-long program;
- Motivational card from my husband, which serves as a daily reminder;
- Another daily reminder, this in the form of a post-it note which reads: BE CONCISE. I’m still working on that one;
- Mickey Mouse! This bag was brought back from Disney World, and now holds four lanyards and fifty or more various official trading pins extorted out of us from our kids because they HAD to have them, they’re SO cool - they’ve been in that precise spot since early December, 2007;
- A basket of “to pay” bills, adorned with “I have Character” pins awarded to our three boys from their schools for the odd random act of good-citizenship, and a plaster cast Wolf Scout thing of some sort. Yet another constant reminder that they’re not going away (the bills, nor the kids), and that my writing better take root soon;
- Wolf Scout Handbook; and finally
- Credit card offers, retail catalogues, notes to self and one overdue dental bill which is not garnering any more attention in its current location than it did in its previous location.
Ahhh, my office.

I just now saw your comment—
